Leadership, Teamwork, “The Gamification of Things” –  Breaking Down Barriers

Eímear Noone is an award-winning Irish composer and conductor, resident in Malibu, California.

In February 2020 she became the first female conductor in Oscar history to conduct the 42-piece orchestra at the Academy Awards.

Eímear composed and conducted for the iconic video game World of Warcraft and the expansion, Warlords of Draenor.  The score for the latter received the 2014 Hollywood Music in Media Award for Best Video Game Score and was nominated for five Annual Game Music Awards.

The game music she conducts has unparalleled reach in the orchestral world.  Diablo III, as one example, smashed the record in game sales by selling over 3.5 million copies in the first 24 hours alone.  It also won the 2012 GDC Award for Best Audio – which includes the award for music, the 2012 Hollywood Music in Media Award for Best Original Score, and a 2013 BAFTA Nomination for Original Score.

Eímear  has conducted for the orchestral touring show, VIDEO GAMES LIVE,  which is is a concert series consisting of segments of video game music performed by a live orchestra with video footage and synchronized lighting and effects.

Now in it’s 18th year, VGL holds the Guinness World Record as the longest running orchestral touring show.  With Video Games Live, Eímear has conducted from China to Brazil, Canada to Qatar, Mexico to Malaysia – and just about every other corner of the globe where orchestral music is performed.

“The Symphony Orchestra is now a integral part of the Video Game World,  no longer regarded as the fuddy duddy music of their Grandparents , it has weaved its way into Gamers hearts .” Eímear  Noone

As a conductor she has led many of the world’s great ensembles such as The Philadelphia Orchestra (The Mann Center), The Dallas Symphony (Myerson Hall), The Royal Philharmonic (Hammersmith Apollo Theater), The Sydney Symphony (Sydney Opera House), The National Symphony (Wolf trap), just to name a few. As another example of her classical experience, Eimear had the pleasure of conducting the orchestra for the Los Angeles Ballet in their inaugural production of Tchaikovsky’s “The Nutcracker.”
